Mr. Gary Pernell, was born on November 23, 1965 SC, to Mrs. Rushell Hay Roberts and the late Mr. Herman Johnson, Sr.

Gary received his formal education at the Allendale-Fairfax public school and was employed with Reid's grocery deli in Barnwell, SC.

One brother the late Herman Johnson, Jr. preceded him in death.

An avid cook, Gary took great delight in entertaining and feeding his family and friends. His kind hearted and loving disposition, most exemplified his character earning him the love and respect of many who came to know him. His memories will forever live in our hearts.

After the weary toil of illness and pain, the quiet soul of our beloved Gary Pernell took solace in the peaceful comfort of eternal rest on Monday, May 22, 2006, at the Bamberg County Hospital, in Bamberg, SC.

Lauderdale, FL, Rosa Mae Roberts of Arizona and Vickie(Charles) Gill of allendale, SC; a devoted god-son: Master Cam'Ron Brown of Blackville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
